Emma – Jane Austen

Fancying herself a matchmaker, spoilt and wealthy Emma attempts to run the lives and loves of those around her. In trying to match up her new, poor friend with the bachelors of the town, Emma’s inability to see the true feelings of others and the impacts of her meddling become comically clear. She is dismayed when Harriet declares she has fallen in love with Mr Knightley, not just because he is so far above Harriet’s own social station, but because she realises how much she loves Mr Knightley herself!
