Jahanara: Princess of Princesses (The Royal diaries) – Kathryn Lasky

This is the diary of Jahanara, daughter of Shah Jahan, the last great Mogul (Muslim) king of Northern India. He is remembered for building the Taj Mahal as a monument to Jahanara’s mother and his dead wife, Mumtaz Mahal. He was later imprisoned near the Taj Mahal by Jahanara’s younger brother, his own son. A most interesting and believable story.
