Dragon Keeper – Carole Wilkinson

Set in Ancient China this is the magical story of Ping, a poor slave girl, whose duties include caring for the imperial dragons. When her life and the life of the last dragon are threatened, together with her only friend, Hua the rat, they escape across the mountains. On a journey across China to the ocean they must all show great courage and overcome many threats to their safety. The journey is also one of self-discovery for Ping as the dragon teaches her many things and she becomes a true Dragonkeeper.

    This is a really good book as it has dragons. It interesting as it is set back in ancient China and doesn’t include any modern-day things. It doesn’t get confusing and the story-line isn’t distracted
