The lion and the lamb – Jonathan Harlen

This is a very short novel which explores the story of Nicaraguan emigres Juan Castillo and his son Hector, who live in a high-rise block in inner-Sydney. Juan thrives on a feud with the Russian family upstairs – caused by their sons’ bullying of Hector, his peace making son. Hector struggles to understand his father’s rage in this novel about how we are affected by our past and about how we deal with conflict.
